Root.
I heard the voice of elation
From the pharynx of oceans
Spitting caution against the
Invasion of hopping waters –
Limestones curled on seashells
Cowries and tunics signposting
A long archive of a redolent history
A foot at the doorstep of nostalgia –
There is a place over the horizon
Brimming with light and the artilleries
Of silence, whispering trees and the call
Of brass drums – riveted in songs –
etched upon the stems of trees –
Through fountains, into the refrains of dreams
And the ululations of premonitions,
Where home is the whiff of laughter.
